Gators in FL regularly kill people...

Recgators - Nope thats not true. Remember the kid 2016 in Disneyworld... Heres the truth.

Alligator Attacks statistics - States compared - StateMaster

there have been multiple year periods without fatalities, but they are serious ambush attack predators and will try to grab you if they think they can get you and are hungry.

When I was knee-high to a grasshopper our family was visiting friends in Billericay, Essex. I was out on a walk with dad and his friend when I stood on an adder curled up on the pavement. Luckily it was Autumn and early morning so it obviously wasn't warmed up properly. Thankfully it just lifted it's head up and hissed a bit.

We used to have a Black Racer in the yard, which is good, but it must have moved on as we spotted a Corn Snake just a few weeks ago. The wife's ex spent a few uncomfortable days in hospital two years ago when a rattler bit him on the foot - sometimes karma really does get the assholes too.

Thinking of critters takes me back to the 90's and working in the South of France. It was easy to see why the locals preferred 'squat and drop' type crappers, the scorpions were mean little bastards who liked nothing better than hiding under toilet seats...
