Sometimes you just can't win
My grandson is quite a keen baseball player and plays in Clackamas Little League. Last couple of years he made the All Stars team and last year they placed 4th in the State Finals.
This year is his last year in Little League along with most of that All Star team. We decided to give him a good chance of making the All Stars this year and we paid for him to have professional coaching. The families of some of the other kids did the same, with the intention we would do all we could to help the kids win State and make it at least to the Regional finals. Not cheap by any means but we get as much fun out of watching him play as he does playing.
Grandson goes out to recess while at school, plays basketball and breaks his *&(^%$ thumb. Going to miss at least 4 weeks of the baseball season.

Ugh! I'm sorry. That's no fun for anyone.
I hope the little guy makes a swift recovery.

Oh no!
It's always this way with kids.... The best laid plans of mice & men are no match for the chaos that is a normal child's life.

Ouch!
A cousin's kid, well, for basketball, doing something similar though, but broke her foot doing a dance move, listening to the radio. Missed the last 2/3 of the season but till that point, was being taunted as one of the top players in the state for her age.
