I now have sciatica, herniated disk, benign prostatic hyperplasia, and high cholesterol. I'm pretty healthy though.

Well there were 30 & 40 speed limits, but no 55 or 65 on the interstates in the early 1970s. Or, am I misremembering? The rosy glow of carefree youth??

I thought it was 55 back then, but I was born in '71 so I could be wrong...

In 1972 I got about $2.60 per pound sterling, cars were still the length of football fields, but when I got one of the first "sub compacts" I could fill it up for $5 (and yes, I don't recall a speed limit on the interstates in some states). Offices were totally over-heated in winter and utterly freezing in summer. What has changed personally? Well, two husbands, ten dogs, two apartments, four houses, eight cars, six jobs later I still feel like the kid from Yorkshire, but I've enjoyed my life in NYC and CT.

Nixon put a 55 mph on the interstates, down from 70 because of the gas crisis. The truckers were not amused.

Oh yeah....the Red Sox finally pulled their finger out of their panties and won a couple world series, the Pats got good and won some stuff, even the Bruins and Celts managed to get some jewellery.

Still unsettled as to where we are going to be in the next few years.

But touch wood things are going well

Definitely one of the perks!

Good to hear things are going well Sally, I know you have been a bit unhappy in the not too distant past, hope the trend continues for you all
