We went to a friend's house for Thanksgiving and had a scrummy meal cooked by her and her husband. They have a one-year old daughter who managed to bang her head REALLY hard on the coffee table on my watch though. I think I'm going to be a bad mother...

How was yours? Eat lots of turkey? I have a craving for mashed potatoes at the moment, and I think I ate at least three other people's shares.

Kids fall all over the place. It doesn't hurt them any, they're made of rubber. Don't make a fuss about it and they won't learn to either.

I was cheated. Plenty of food there, but I could not let myself take part in the usual gluttonfest because I had to drive four hours back home right after dinner. A dinner like that deserves time to settle. Dozing in front of the TV while the women clean up is perfect, dozing behind the wheel of your car while doing 75mph isn't. Worse yet, we didn't bring home any leftovers.

I knew it! We have to keep you out of here, lady.

Nothing worse than getting laughed at when you've got a big mad-on. Doubles the insult.

It's fine unless you live 50 feet away from beachy head.

No! But if she did, I'd definately consider a move to beachy head

Ah... sweet sweet leftovers. I think the days AFTER Thanksgiving and Christmas are actually better food-wise.

I think you're right. No big family madness, millions of kids, rushing around, barely getting a bite before you're passed another platter to send around the table...

In the days after you can really sit down with a turkey sandwich and devote yourself to it, really give it the attention that it deserves. No formalities, no china plates or cloth napkins, just me, a fork and a tupperware container of bread dressing with gravy on it.

Nothing is more fun that laughing at a kid throwing a tantrum.

I mean... a two-year-old dramatically hurling herself onto the ground, pounding her 'ittle-bitty fists, and the sound effects...

Hilarious. And makes them even madder

( of course, this isn't MY two-year-old. I can walk away whenever I like )

Oh. A two-year old... I was talking about me, last week!

I banged my shin.
I think I'm coming down off those meds now..
