So, I'm new...

Re: So, I'm new...
We went to a friend's house for Thanksgiving and had a scrummy meal cooked by her and her husband. They have a one-year old daughter who managed to bang her head REALLY hard on the coffee table on my watch though. I think I'm going to be a bad mother...
How was yours? Eat lots of turkey? I have a craving for mashed potatoes at the moment, and I think I ate at least three other people's shares.

I was cheated. Plenty of food there, but I could not let myself take part in the usual gluttonfest because I had to drive four hours back home right after dinner. A dinner like that deserves time to settle. Dozing in front of the TV while the women clean up is perfect, dozing behind the wheel of your car while doing 75mph isn't. Worse yet, we didn't bring home any leftovers.

Kids fall all over the place. It doesn't hurt them any, they're made of rubber. Don't make a fuss about it and they won't learn to either.
Never a truer word typed up.

In the days after you can really sit down with a turkey sandwich and devote yourself to it, really give it the attention that it deserves. No formalities, no china plates or cloth napkins, just me, a fork and a tupperware container of bread dressing with gravy on it.

I mean... a two-year-old dramatically hurling herself onto the ground, pounding her 'ittle-bitty fists, and the sound effects...
Hilarious. And makes them even madder
( of course, this isn't MY two-year-old. I can walk away whenever I like )

Nothing is more fun that laughing at a kid throwing a tantrum.
