so, how does your FB data get used?

Just texting, the native service in my AT&T phone, not anything else that I signed up for, subscribed to, or downloaded. .... And yes, I assume it is fairly isolated, I only mentioned it for completeness in my reply.

No doubt I am a Luddite or live in the dark ages etc...
I don't have, never have had, a cell phone, smartphone or similar device - never remotely seen a need for one.
I do have an iPad and I use it all the time. However, in the privacy settings I have the geographic locator turned off. I do notice that when I'm travelling, I get advertising directed to me for the town or region I'm visiting - I think that's because of the IP address I'm using at the time (hotel, college, friends house etc.)

Do you FaceTime? Or only landline?

My new phone asks me to review places sporadically. I didn't set the phone up myself so who knows why. I probably need to change a setting as I'm obviously being tracked.
The other day it asked me if I wanted to do an anonymous review of a business. It was my own business so ... yeah, I did the review. Now I feel the need to go sit at all of my competitors' locations so I can do anonymous reviews on them.
Once I've done that, I'll probably turn the stupid thing off.

Google Maps / Timeline will do that. It will put pics into your timeline as well if it has access to your Camera Folder.

Using airplane mode , could also be called secrecy mode appears to stop most of these issues. It stops me getting emails from annoying people, no phone calls. I am still able to use the calculator and get to names and addresses.

Pictures of birds from when I was obsessed with the bird's nest on my patio. Those are my memories. Oh and a bunch of work documents I was too lazy to copy/write so I just took a picture of them. Titillating stuff.

Oh I use the landline in order to receive calls from the friends of the county sheriff, the police chiefs federation, the patrol men's benefit society etc. etc.

Got an alert from Google Maps this morning of an accident three miles ahead of me. I hadn't searched for a route, nor the destination, nor is it a road that I usally travel on (it is almost a month since I last travelled that way), so I assume that Google is not only tracking my location but also the direction I am traveling.

If it's turned on, Google knows. That is all.
