Sentimental Shipping
Hi
I havent posted on here for yonks but have a quick question that I know I'll get sound advice on from the peeps in here. I need to ship 1 table from the UK to the US. I know you're thinking one table what's the point, but it's been in the family a long time and so has a lot of sentimental value. So, I am trying to figure out the best way to get it here without it costing a kings ransom. Does any one know of a shipping company that they would recomend? Or an alternative way of getting it over here? Thanks! |
Re: Sentimental Shipping
Long shot - but find someone moving to where you are from where you were and ask if they have room in their container ?
We were very happy with our shipping company - Sterling Relocation but didn't pay for the shipping so didn't pay much attention to their costs. |

We used Brittania, our shipping ordeal turned into a farce, so no I wouldn't recommend them :sneaky: |
Re: Sentimental Shipping
How large is it? Might be able to crate it up and get Fed-ex etc to send it over, probably won't be cheap but might be easier than getting it shipped?

Re: Sentimental Shipping
Again, depending on size, air cargo might be a possibility. Most of the big airlines have separate cargo websites, eg https://www.aacargo.com/

And I dont know anyone moving from there to here and as we're hopefully shipping out East again ourselves we're in a rush to get the table here so we can ship all out again in one go. |
Re: Sentimental Shipping
We are using Doree Bonner to ship our stuff and our up to date estimate has now turned into possibly 11 weeks so I wouldn't recommend them. I would probably go down the route of air freight cargo. Don't know how much it would cost but it would certainly get your table here quicker. :)
