Yes the production is slowly decreasing but they reckon in the North Sea fields they is still another 40yrs to go before it runs out.If there is that same amount on the west coast that be another 80yrs of production. What a boost to a newly independent country

And what about when it runs out? Wonga don't make loans to countries you know.

The west coast is significantly more difficult to drill into also, higher costs means lower profit.

So post independence, Scotland will be needing a safe pair of hands to manage the economy - someone with experience, someone in tune with the politics (a Labour politician), someone who has already demonstrated his ability to manage a country's economy, and of course, most essentially, a Scotsman ..... I give you: Gordon Brown! ....

Alternatively, perhaps you need a different Scotsman from outside politics, with qualifications, a Chartered Accountant, no less, and demonstrated, nay legendary ability to managing a multi-billion pound international corporation, ..... Fred Goodwin!

So you consider the primary reason not to consider Gordon Brown is that he is in the "No camp"?

Seems that anybody who does not support the Yes campaigned will be banned for life from serving in an independent Scottish government.
