Most Americans I talk to want to go to Ireland to trace their ancestry and I don't see Ireland exactly rolling in tourism dollars.

Essentially, the white paper suggests that current Scottish citizens will retain the right to UK citizenship, and vice versa. Similarly, Scottish and UK citizenship will be passed on to children who are born in Scotland and the UK, so this aspect of citizenship will be unaffected by Scottish independence for many generations.

They do not have any real answers other than it will be worked out later.
Can you believe it? No firm agreement on our citizenship status.
No definitive answer on currency, NATO, nuclear, the economy, immigration, EU?
And they claim they're ready?
What a bunch a numpties.

How much is the cost going to go down due to removal(reduction?) of airport tax?* Is that difference really going to make a significant difference in the number of tourists?* Especially if the hotels are perceived as being expensive - or are they going to be subsidized/price controlled?

What about the Head of State. The SNP says it will keep the Queen and her heirs as the heads of state.......Ibut there's an alternative......what about separating the Crowns as well and putting a Stuart of the throne and making the Jacobites happy

I don't see any reason why Scotland couldn't be an economic success outside of the UK. It's got 5M people in a bigger land mass than many other European countries. It's got strong agriculture and fisheries, engineering, defense, high tech and financial industries. Also plenty of great universities.
