Re: the Scottish independence issue
The result was marginal, i meant mandate in the same sense as is used by Political Parties at General Elections.

I stayed up all night listening to it on the radio, didn't want to miss it. Interesting interviews on radio and TV today, some people on both sides can't let go of griping about the campaign but most seem to be looking forward to combining efforts in the best interests of Scotland.
Better luck next time.

Since the No side won by a very significant margin, there would be no sense in holding another referendum in the next several decades. Look at the Quebec experience ... The momentum just went away, dissipated, was irrelevant after the most recent referendum. Issues move on, times change.

Hard luck pal, at least one outcome is that the Westminster elite are feeling less secure in continuing with business as usual.

Most recent US presidents have got less than 55% of the popular vote. Of course, the electoral college system can convert small majorities into a lop-sided result. I'd describe this result as a clear but not overwhelming affirmation of the union.

An independent Scotland would have qualified.
With the imperialist yoke still there, much less likely.
