Right, now England needs a referendum on independence. Leave the Celtic nations to it.

I'm becoming cautiously optimistic.
Just waiting for Eck's speech..."We triumphantly gave the Scottish people their own choice..A triumph for Democracy...I will continue to serve the Scottish people now and in the future on this momentous day..."
(Still pisses me off that so many Scots don't get to vote and yet many non-Scots do get to vote. It's a disgrace.)

Wee Ecks on now hailing his losing vote as a victory.

Officially no then with a 91% turnout. Pretty impressive. Was listening to Tommy Sheriden on NPR on the way home from work. He basically said the 1.6 million that voted no had been conned. What an odious twat!

Australia has that I think. Not sure what the penalty is. As a friend said to me low turn its are a feature not a bug. The parties would hate it if people actually cared to vote then they would have to convince all of us.

He was saying the same thing in a R5 Live interview. Sour grapes from a sourpuss.

Re: the Scottish independence issue
As was North Lanarkshire, Dundee City and Glasgow but each with a "Yes" majority considerably lower than the average "NO" majority.
In sharp contrast Edinburgh recorded a surprisingly large "No" majority......61.1% "No" to a piffling 38.9% "Yes, reflecting the very clear difference between the Glasgow social scene and that of the capital city of Scotland.
Now it's all done and dusted, praise be, all one big "happy" family again...now it's time for England to go about seeking "justice and fairness" - hopefully without resorting to a similar English independence referendum.

Re: the Scottish independence issue
The No vote clearly lacks a mandate, the consequences will be interesting.
