Default San Diego for Brits?

Hello out there,
We are thinking of moving over from Korea to the US and probably settle in San Diego. Is there much of a Brit community there? Are there any forums similar to this one specialising in San Diego?

You should read this wiki first: unless you can answer "Yes" to any of those questions, it is most unlikely you'll be moving to and settling in the US.

As far as what San Diego is like, post in the general USA forum: this forum is more for the mechanisms of immigrating, not for descriptions of various localities...

Absolutely loads of Brits down here in Socal, but the vast majority seem to be ancient fossils who came out decades ago when it was easy.

As nettlebed says, if you don't match the criteria for one of the visas, you really don't need to worry about it!

Moved here in May and I love it. Second what Caleyjag said, most of the Brits I've seen are a bit older but there are plenty of them about. Never actually registered or been to any meetups but did find this when I first moved here:

Welcome to BE

The where though is somewhat irrelevant if you aren't eligible for a visa and then if you are, depends on where you can find a job would be the primer for location.

The assumption that the OP is completely ignorant of the visa issue could come across as a little patronizing.

true, but one usually says if they already have the visa sorted out and there are plenty of people who don't realise how untrivial a matter the visa can be in their master plans...

Cool Re: San Diego for Brits?

Thanks to all for your replies. and the advise on qualification.
we do qualify and are currently are in the visa application process.

San Diego it is then. The real estate prices seem to be very unsettled. Would it be better to buy straight away or rent and wait until things settle down?

Living in Korea there are no earthquakes, should I worry about San Diego?
