Road trip suggestions for May
We need a mini break so thinking of a wedding anniversary road trip for about 7 days in early May. We don't mind fly/ drive or just drive. We want fairly good weather and interesting places to see.
Any suggestions?

US Route 50. Loneliest highway in the US. Interesting places to see.
US Route 395. One of the most beautiful drives in the country. Tahoe to Los Angeles. Yosemite, Bishop, Mammoth Lakes. Snow capped Sierras, hot springs, ghost towns. Or detour through Death Valley and end up in Vegas.

So you're coming from Houston. What about going along the Gulf Coast / panhandle? Rent a boat on the Gulf.

We've been in Texas for 30 years and have seen pretty much all we need to see in Texas. We spent a lot of time taking trips to the West Coast when our daughter lived there. We have been to most of the gulf coast states and quite a few others..
So what about interesting places in Utah, Montana, Wisconsin??

Utah is great There's some real road-runner cartoon scenery.
I haven't explored Montana or the Black Hills and all that yet. There's the Devil's Tower in Wyoming (perhaps not that interesting if you're not a Close Encounters fan.)
You got that giant sculpture of Geronimo. I don't know really. Bit of a mystery.

That's a reason we want to go back as we didn't get much time in Wyoming and we didn't make it to Montana either.
Right now M is leaning toward Utah, but we'll see. He wants us to go on the Tryke but that's a lot of miles!

You could fly into Atlanta and drive up thru the Carolinas and on thru to New England. Possibly fly home from New England airport to avoid back tracking. Pulaski or Tom could give you some routes and advice.
