Remembrance Day Poppies

British Consulate-General > One Broadway, Cambridge MA 02142

Those in Boston can pick them up there at reception.

It's the sort of thing you find in a drawer in April or something
I'm now wondering if I can get one somewhere.

(although it looks to be closed at the moment) :(

Its where we got ours from this year. Bought the lapel pins and traditional style ones too. Bit steep on shipping, but I guess overall the money is going to a good cause:thumbup:

I've tried that in the past, none of them had any, though I donated to them, and had the British Legion in San Fran send me some in the past because the Boston consulate usually runs out.

LA area - Ye Old King's Head in Santa Monica had a sign out front advertising them last time I was there (a week ago, I think).

Canadian Legion is upset over the White Poppies. The Canadian Legion sells the Red ones in most shopping malls.

Thanks for the link Keith

"The red poppies are not political statements and the Legion doesn't have any political positions. The poppies are simply a symbol of remembrance. Nothing more," Mr. Ross said. "It seems to me that the people who usually distribute these [white] poppies and do these sort of things have never spent a day in their life in the service of their country."
I dont think he would understand political if it hit on the head.
