Recommendation for kids in Boston?
Hello all
I recently posted asking info about real estate and in Boston and surrounding areas and everyone was very helpful so thought i might try my luck again
So here goes , myself , ptrner and 2 kiddies ( 3 and 6) are coming out to Boston on the 19th Oct for 3 nights and staying around the area for the rest of the week. Just wondering if the childrens museum is any good? Also because we arrive on the run up to Halloween is there anything worth seeing ( children in mind lol) doing. Any reccomedations for our young tots would be most helpful!
Cheers
Rachel

Check the wiki as there's some things to do and see in there for boston and area...
As for childrens' museum, it's worth a visit, quite a few good one's in boston area...and Halloween, might be a bit early, but it's probably a good thing...Salem usually has fun things to go and see, and it won't be hell as it is during halloween itself.

That's a site worth checking out....The historical walks (Freedome Trails around Beacon Hill) are pretty good and not that heavy going, especially this time of year. There's also the boston tea house, don't know if that's open yet but it probably is...had a fire earlier in the year.
The little ducks crossing tour - http://massachusetts-travel.suite101...ton_duck_tours which is cute if you have little kids.

Thanks Bob
Will check those out , quite looking foward to it , will it be considerably cooler than the UK as we dont want to overpack (especially as we are staying in hotels and BB's) space being a premium with the kiddies lol

Recommendation for kids in Boston? Seeing as the population is over 4 million, I'm willing to bet the conventional method works just fine.
Oops, sorry. Just read the rest of your post. From the title I thought you meant something different...

I would definitely take the kids to the Aquarium though!
You might also want to look into whale watching - though I'm not sure it's the right season.

I also recommend the Aquarium and the nearby IMAX. Definitely look into some sort of pass eg Go Boston Card so you can go on a trolley or the duck tour (be warned - get up early to get duck tour tix - they sell out fast!).
There should also be lots of entertainers around Faneuil Hall.
The Childrens Museum got a major makeover this year so I am sure it is fab!
There is SpookyWorld for Halloween at the Bayside Expo Center but it would only be suitable for your 6 year old.

Re: Recommendation for kids in Boston?
Edit:- http://www.explorerpass.com/boston/ that might be worth looking at...
Edit 2: I guess they have done away with the tourist pass, but can get a week pass -
http://www.mbta.com/fares_and_passes/passes/ well worth it, $15 for 7 days, but that should get you around everywhere you'd need to go, beats taxis as they are horrid and not cheap.

Read "Make Way For Ducklings" with them before you come out...
