The two greatest lines ever written in a pop song:

"Fun fun fun fun"

"Tomorrow is Saturday, and Sunday comes afterrrrrr....wards"

It's all over the 'net so, crap or not, she'll get shedloads of publicity thanks to threads just like these

It's the way a marketing machine works these days, hell, good luck to her, make loads of cash then get out before the industry kills you.

I would witter on about the merits of it musically and having the vocals auto-tuned to death but that a) The misses the point of 'pop' and b) It makes me sound like an old fart, which I am.

Who is this person? I've never heard of her.... Ok, just googled, nope, still doesn't help, total nobody singing about nothing and sounding like a strangled cat whilst doing it. Video looks like it cost about $23.74 to make so she won’t' be too much in the hole when she disappears back into oblivion.

Bloody hell, we've got earthquakes, tsunamis, nuclear leaks, war in Iraq, Afghanistan and now Libya, massive unrest in a very volatile part of the world and 18M people tuned in to see this junk? Well at least the 'profits' go to help out in Japan, so there is a small silver lining to this cloud.

I was reading the wiki site where she said that next she wants to do a duet with Justin Bieber or whatever that boy-girl is called. Nice, they could name it the "Justin Black Beaver" band, you heard it here first folks.

Not bad, but nothing will ever top this "masterpiece."

There are two lyrics that stand out to me as the worst lines ever written in song:

"If you touch it I'ma start some drama,
You don't want no drama,
No, no drama, no, no, no, no drama" - From "My Humps" by the Black Eyed Peas

"Everyone was nervous, no-one could relax" - From "Who's The Thief" in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Of COURSE no-one could relax! They were NERVOUS! As a 12-year-old I was in the West End production of Joseph as part of the children's chorus (Phillip Schofield was Joseph at the time) and that line would drive me nuts during every single performance...

(And yes, that was me casually dropping into conversation how talented I was as a child. My, how the mighty have fallen...)

It was the spring of 1995, if that helps rub salt into the wound...

From Wiki:

In an interview with The Daily Beast, Black's mother, Georgina Kelly, recalls how a classmate of Black informed her of Ark Music Factory, a Los Angeles record label that allowed young singers to gain experience in the industry by recording a track for a fee. Kelly paid Ark Music $2,000 for a package that included a choice of two pre-written songs.

Black herself chose the song "Friday", as "the other song was about adult love – I haven't experienced that yet. 'Friday' is about hanging out with friends, having fun. I felt like it was my personality in that song." Ark Music handled the video's production, and also made heavy use of the pitch-correcting software Auto-Tune. Kelly had some doubts over the quality of the lyrics, but was told by Black that "I sang it as they wrote it, Mom."

The song's co-writer and producer Clarence Jey said that "the concept we feel seems to have crossed a lot of boundaries, for the better or worse." The participants in the video were all real-life school-friends of Rebecca Black.
