Question about moving between US and UK
 

I was wondering if anyone can give me some advice.
I moved the US in 2004 to marry my wife who is American. I am currently in the process of removing the conditions from my permanent residence card which hopefully should occur in the next few months.
We have talked about spending a few years in each country and I know it will be easy to move back to the UK but I was wondering if I move back to England for say 3 years then can I just move back to the US without having to reapply for Permanent resident status?
Also how complicated is it for my wife to move over to England?
Ideally I would love for my wife and I to just be able to up and move between the countries whenever we want but don't know if this is realistic.

If you hang on long enough to get citizenship of the US you will find it a lot more straightforward, (and no immigration paperwork, for yourself, to worry about) to move between the two countries.

If you do decide to move to the UK then you'll find the UK spousal visa process a lot less time-consuming though equally as expensive.

britainusa.com has information and current fees for the UK immigration side of things, (and you get to apply online though your wife will have to do biometrics and send supporting paperwork into the relevant UK consulate).

If you were to do that and wanted the freedom to move between both countries then she could, once she was eligible, apply for UK citizenship.

Yes, I think you'd be wise to pick up your citizenship before you leave. If you go as just a permanent resident, after a period it could be deemed you've abandoned your US residence and you'll have to start the whole drawn out process all over again should you move back. You can apply for citizenship 90 days before the third anniversary of being granted PR status by the way if its on marriage - if you are at the I-751 stage, not really too far to go (well, assuming USCIS get their act together processing applications that is.....).
