It's now able to do off line routing once it has made the directions, so could switch data off, but I've no idea how functional it is if you miss a turn. Still, it was a function that came back in on the last maps update on Android.

Had to take a trip up to SFO today to pick up the old dear. Hit all the traffic going home so it took us on a nice alternative route rather than the down the 101 that was at standstill. Predicted I would get home at 1748 which I thought was way off. I got home at 1746. It's so accurate that it has ruined my game of trying to beat the Sat Nav whenever we go anywhere.

I gave it a try today when we went to Vancouver out of curiosity. Not too bad, mostly accurate, within close enough to not be an issue.

Could only take us 1 way since there is no viable alternate to/from this town and Vancouver area. There is but it's about a 8 to 9 hour trip on the alternate route vs 55 mins on the direct route.....

Neat little app, it wasn't so accurate on the traffic jams, but they happen so frequently in Vancouver hard to keep up with them....lol

I found that not many people used it in England.

waze is awesome - ONLY drawback is the amount of power it sucks - a long drive can drain the entire phone.

Yeah, it does seem to be a power hog. Most of the time I turn the screen off and just listen to directions.

Just keep your 'phone plugged into a car charger.

My Note 3 seems to use more than the charger can provide. I leave it plugged into the charger but waze still drains the battery. I get a couple of hours of use if I leave it plugged in.

I prefer to cycle: flatten - recharge fully, and don't have a car charger. I do have three batteries I circulate.

Waze drained our battery last night. It was using more power then the car charger could provide. The phone charges incredibly slow in the car.

We have an LG g4.

Charges fast plugged into a wall but waste of time trying to charge it in the car.

Interesting, I wonder whether that's the Note or your charger? iPhone battery life is supposed to be crap, but if I have it plugged into my car charger and am using directions, it will (slowly) increase its percentage charge.

Our phone lg g4 is the same in the car. If plugged in and not used in the car it only charges about 2% in an hour, if using apps it drains faster then it charges.

2% in an hour? There is something wrong with your charger or your car's power socket.

Charger works fine in the house plugged in. Phone just sucks on USB charging. Does the same slow charge if plugged into the PC usb port.

Same charger plugged into the wall 0 to 100 in about an hour.

No idea why but not a big deal. Dont use apps in the car and phone stays charges. Talk and text can go 16 plus hours. Apps and data drain it though.

GPS unit charges fine in the car.
