Planespotting II

Re: Planespotting II
Not a plane but I took the kids to watch this go up in the air last week. A Minotaur IV (i.e. an ex-MX Peacekeeper ICBM) delivering four new spy satellites to space from Wallops Island VA

Very cool pictures, but I bet that 30 years ago you were not expecting to ever see a Peacemaker launched, and were presumably hoping that you wouldn't.

One NASA guy who was at the launch remarked how fast this rocket cleared the tower and was on the way (0 to Mach 1 in 16 seconds). Said they built them that way to get them out of the silo quickly before the Russia missiles started landing.

Re: Planespotting II
I never really realized every photo I was taking with my phones over the years was backing up to google, tells you how much I use technology, but I am finding I took a fair amount of pictures at the airport,
First one is a summer morning at Vancouver Airport, although had to get up at the horrendous hours of 3am to be there at this time of day, it was always my favorite time of the day, airport still half sleeping, planes slowly leaving one by one. Based on time of day, I would say that Delta flight was the 6am to Seattle, first flight of the day for Delta back then.
The Horizon Airlines photo was Christmas Day 2017, I remember that because the San Diego State plane came to visit, it was always my favorite, a little reminder of home, this flight would be going to Seattle most likely, I don't recall their being Portland flights in late December.
The last photo MD-90, which wasn't the most common visitor to YVR and was a nice treat since its was different and not many MD-90's visit YVR these days or even back then.

Don't they all? I've seen the Clemson one parked up at Sarasota airfield when the football coaches have been checking out the local talent (I know when they're scouting because the wife comes home from teaching like a giddy schoolgirl as she gets to spend time with them).

Re: Planespotting II
I just texted that picture to my friend who is a die hard Yankee's fan. He's one of those guys who's whole identity is wrapped up in a sports team. He probably has the Yankee logo on his condoms. Now I like sports, when I have money on them but this guy takes fandom to all new and disturbing levels. I texted him that picture and he responded: " As soon as i'm done reading this text i'm going to drop to my knees and pray to god that airplane crashes"
My response: "C'mon"
Might have to block him for 24 hours- Don't need the negativity right now. Trying to build it up,don't wanna knock it down
GO CHELSEA!
