If you click on the image icon in the row above the posting frame ^, you should get a pop-up that gives you an option to either give a web location to source the image, or up-load from your device.

We either short circuited it completely, or reduced our build time and costs, picking up a completed Cozy IV, with a full FAA inspection, airworthiness certificate and engine. For 20K.

That saved thousands of hours and dollars. What engine is in it? Post a photo or two when you get time.

And thanks Pulaski I found the icon and it worked.

Its an 0-320, with 12 hours on it - unfortunately 14 years ago.

Good looking airplane. If the right size you can’t do better than a 0320. Does the airframe have 12 hours also? It is going to be difficult deciding what to do with engine. Fly it or disassemble to inspect. Do you have it home yet?

Not got it here yet. Airframe has never flown. I spoke with Mike Busch at SavvyAviation, who's really THE expert on engine maintenance, his sage advice was to borescope it for anything obvious, then run it and keep checking for particles in the oil filters every few hours. There's a whole protocol of flight envelope exploration and expansion I need to perform that the owner never did. Poor guy got dealt some bad hands Theres's a nice EMS on the O-320, so we'll get some time logged in and see what happens.

The price for the whole thing is still less than the price for an O-320 !

Thanks. Lots of rework needed - I bet we lose 5 knots with the paint job !!
She's a very fast, very frugal plane - 200MPH at 7 GPH is pretty sippy.

I think I posted my RV3 before. The builder put a 0320 in it originally and clocked it at 215mph top speed. He flew it 200 hours then sold to me without engine. I but a 0235 108hp in it and it cruises at 160mph. I have flown 350 hours so far.

A flying club many years ago had several PA-28’s, which all had the 0-320. They were worked like hell but never once gave any problems.

The RV3 is very easy to fly. I got 6 hours tail wheel time in a champ then the RV3. Looking back I was lucky teaching myself to fly it. It has flaps and I try for 75 on final but could do it slower but I do all wheel landings. Stall speed is around 55. It will easily climb 1500 fpm.
