A propos, Brussels Airlines will take a small hit as a consequence.

Re: Planespotting II
Four F-18's were playing silly buggers above our property today, I think they were doing large laps around Tampa Bay so we were treated to four flypasts in two pairs, presumably headed to or from Macdill. Quite impressive. We don't get much commercial or private overhead but seem to be on the flight path for Macdill and are regularly (but thankfully not in a nuisance way) treated to an impressive array of military hardware headed to and from.

Living on the Pinellas side, I have never seen a military plane. I assumed they do their business as incognito as possible. As I understand, Centcom/McDill does not house a fleet of fighters, just refuelluing planes etc> I get to see Allegiant planes into Clw/StPete and coastgard helo frequently as I work by that airport.
I often see the coastguard planes overhead when I'm working near the Sarasota/Bradenton coastline.

Looks like the FAA is going to do some evacuation testing with tighter seating arrangements some airlines have these days.

Just had a call from RAF top brass at work to say the Red Arrows are passing on their way from San Diego to San Francisco and they want to do a formation flyby of Pebble Beach. Very cool. Day off tomorrow, so I’ll have my camera ready at 11:13 tomorrow morning.

They were in Vancouver last week, saw them from our patio as they flew past, didn't know they were in town at the time and startled me when I heard them, that type of noise is rare for Vancouver.

But did you love them ?
I am such a huge fan. They always did a display between the piers in Bournemouth on or around my birthday .
They're the best.
Only thing I ever saw that could equal that was a military air show in Middle Wallop near Salisbury.
The ground rose in the distance and as the announcer spoke of the jump jets , a good 6 harrier jump jets rose vertically from behind the rise into the air. Took my breath away.
I love military aircraft. I love the sound, the speed, the look.

I liked them. At first I didn't even react to the noise, but then something in my brain was like, hey that isn't a normal noise for around here, and then spotted them.
I grew up with military jets and choppers around, so they were always part of everyday life into my 20's, so I tend to not even react to the noise of them....lol

Just for you
Taken via my iPhone so doesn’t look that spectacular, but when I think it’ll how far away I am from home, it was incredibly cool to see them fly past my little part of the US. And considering they had flown up from San Diego, they arrived exactly to the minute they said they would.
