Not sure if this has been posted here. It is a very understandable explanation of what is wrong with the 737Max. Written by a guy who is a pilot and software developer.
Quite frightening to think the people who didn't know enough to write the original software, have written the "fix".

There is a lot of stuff out there, relying on one instrument that can basically cause the plane to crash and not mention this to a Pilot does seem odd.

".... the probable cause of this accident was the asymmetrical stall and the ensuing roll of the aircraft because of the uncommanded retraction of the left wing outboard leading edge slats and the loss of stall warning and slat disagreement indication systems resulting from maintenance-induced damage leading to the separation of the No. 1 engine and pylon assembly at a critical point during takeoff. The separation resulted from damage by improper maintenance procedures which led to failure of the pylon structure. …"

McDonnell Douglas did not recommend this procedure but had no authority over how airlines performed maintenance.

I wouldn't be surprised if the unions are willing to oblige.

I wouldn't be surprised if the unions are willing to oblige.
Union could be working to rule, airlines often view this as a form of illegal slowdown when its not.

Air New Zealand orders 8 787-10 Also switching to GE Engines, its current fleet of 787-9 have Rolls Royce engines.
