Booked on the AA Screamliner from Chicago to Manchester and back, in August.

Looking forward to ticking that off the list......provided that the batteries don't catch fire.

When I fuel aircraft using a truck, it's pumped in at about 40psi. Whether it's the same on the fuel bowsers that fuel the big commercial aircraft, I don't know.
A little hazy now after 20+ years, but I remember when I went through the Chinook helicopter ground school, when we covered the fuel system, being impressed at some of the numbers. It's about 1 ton of fuel per minute, so for a Chinook HCMk2 (I think they're on the Mk 8 now!) it would be about 3.5 minutes to full refuel (had some fun doing running rotors refuel on occassion!)... Anyway, that fuel is going in under pressure, and has to displace the air in the various tanks (I think the Mk 2 had 6, 3 in each sponson) so you need a valve to let that air out, but that also closes when the fuel gets to it... Happy days!

More trivia for you:
The Airbus 332 holds a little over 139,000 Litres and it takes from empty some 33 minutes to refuel from four couplings.

Driving up I-55, just North of Litchfield, Illinois, today.

I managed to catch a photo of N14522, an ExpressJet Embraer 135 LR.....in a most unusual circumstance

So a new report gives perhaps the best indication so far that MH370 was, indeed, piloted deliberately into the south Pacific.

The AA Plane had just arrived from LHR, and was on its way to Miami.
