They never do here either. It's a real pain. Even on the little village streets at school let out time the bastards don't stop - or peep you when you do. Dick heads.
I purposefully stop at all of them at school times and whenever I see somebody waiting to cross at any time. I make the whole pissing road slow down and try to teach them.

Older generation Italians can't do roundabouts - they spout out at all angles, stop in the middle for a look around and never indicate. I would dearly love to teach some of them what road rage means but all I can do in desperate proximity is blow my horn in the hope that they wake up.
A mate at uni was a driving instructor in Milan...would normally take 20-40 mins to get to LHR depending on traffic. He was taking a friend there who once there realised he left his passport behind. Mate was able to drive back and forth within 15 minutes, a minute to spare before the gates closed.
Proper mental....the M25 was one big gokart track for him

Darling they can't. In this small place 95% of them are crap. In the bigger cities like Naples or Milan or Rome, imagine the carnage and the percentages. In fact - most Italians from the North would try and avoid driving around Naples or Rome.

Didn't realise Italians could drive at the best of times

Re: Pet Peeves?
It was only the Gatwick-Heathrow shuttle. I'm not even 100% sure it was even the M25 now I come to think of it.
I wish I'd made the most of it now, had I realised I'd only get to see England two more times after that

They either have to put stop signs all around them, which rather defeats the object, or have some kind of national awareness campaign about how they work.

It's that one at the Commons, because it has no stop signs. I entered it yesterday to find a car barreling towards me, giving a 'royal wave' to acknowledge he was going the wrong way. Then I sat there as 4 more cars sped across it, steadfastly looking neither to right nor left.
