I've got Global Entry now, so it's not much of an issue when going between US<->UK.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtyfiPIHsIg - You're welcome.
It was just so they could get me my EAD application but I spent 45 minutes in there watching a Chinese man beg them not to send him back home. It was rather unsettling ...
I've got Jethro Tull on now, all is well again.

Re: Pet Peeves?
I got sent through to a small processing room, but was in/out within literally about 5 minutes, and on to get my luggage.
Um, Glad I'm not going to Paris? (also that thing got destroyed).
EDIT - *knew* Nutek would comment on something like this.

Re: Pet Peeves?
I always pay extra for window seats up front, with middle seats being my least favorite. On my recent return from UK through Philly, the plane was delayed out of Manchester and I missed my connection in Philly. They re-booked me automatically on a later flight, for which I was thankful, but I ended up in a middle seat. Boy, that was tough! 5 hours in a middle seat was no fun. I need to remember to pursue a refund since I paid extra for the original window seat ...
I got stuck in a middle seat years ago (but can't complain since the flights back then cost $0) on Newark to Phoenix and with a head wind so it turned out to be over 6 hours and some change, not fun at all.
On most recent flights next week from Vancouver to San Diego via LAX, I chose Delta as they are using aircraft that only have 2 seats each side and no middle, smaller plane vs 737, but nice not having the middle seat. And Delta doesn't charge for assigned seating except in the premium coach cabin right behind first.

Re: Pet Peeves?
When we flew to Hawaii the other week I told everyone to only answer the question that's asked. That if they say do you know the time, just say yes, no chat no giggles about bombs etc. Going through Passport Control at Honolulu the guy checks my daughter's passport and then asks her if she's ever been there before so she just said no. He then asked her if she was sure She said she was certain. He hmmmd a lot and clicked a lot of keys. He then hung on to her passport and did everyone else's in the group. He then went back to hers. By this point we're all getting a tad twitchy but no one even breathed loudly because I wasn't. Finally after about 24 hours (15 minutes really) he let her through. No clue what it was about, I wasn't going to ask just in case....
