I was a non driver for similar reasons, I've had a go at driving here though and will do the test soon after Christmas so my hopefully my insurance rate will be lower. So far though it's much easier than in the UK but maybe that's because I drive an automatic here.

I'm slightly worried by the test though as everyone seems to think that there's no emergency stop, no reverse parking and no reversing around corners. It sounds too good to be true.
