It burns me a little that people come to the NG, get excellent advice from Grinch, Alvena,
Jonathan, Paul, Andy, Mikej, etc. etc. etc. and then they "forget" to post the results of
their experiences on the appropriate pages. Just now Linda wanted info on filing times for
Maine. One couple just recently finished the AOS process there and when I looked there is
no listing for the State of Maine.

Hey folks! The information is free. The folks here are good and kind hearted and give of
themselves to help make your transition easier, the very least you can do it place your
AOS filing experiences, POE experiences, AOS Interview experiences on the appropriate
pages for those that come after you.

It is alright to be like Shawn and TFG to take advice and leave when you are finished but
before you cut and run, leave your experiences behind for the next generation. Just a
posting to the NG is not sufficient. Place it on the permanent web pages.

I agree as well, and it bugs me a LOT. I have a lot of files that I can refer to for all
types of things, and I have a very good memory too, but I do not copy and paste the type
of stuff that "should" be submitted to the resource pages. The information the newsgroup
gets thru postings is currently reflecting an evolutionary change in processing methods
and timelines, and if folks do not submit the information, it is lost. Mike

I submitted my I-130 timeline to the timelines page at wkh.org, but it hasn't been updated
since September, and my info never made it there. Was I supposed to submit it somewhere
else? *Is* there somewhere else that I can put my info?

Maybe I'm doing it all wrong...

I appreciate your sentiments Rita.

I posted my Timeline for I-130 in November. Last month, I discovered this is a
page for K1's!

The I-130 site does not seem to be up and running. If you can give an alternate link for
I-130 posts, I and I am sure lots of others will be happy to pot there.

http://www.wkh.org/k-1visa/nsc3.htm I have been posting here.

http://www.wkh.org/visa/i-130/timelines/index.html

This link doesn't work for postings. The last I-130 is for June, 2000

Thanks for all of the help you and the others pass along to us waiting what seems like an
eternity to be with our loved ones.

Thanks Perdue and Lisa

I don't know why the I-130 website has not been updated. I am, as a K- 1'er far more
familiar with the K-1 and AOS sites which are updated the same or next day that
information is posted.

I see from going to the I-130 site that it is maintained by Wolf and Bonnie but I only see
an email address for Michael.

Perhaps Mike Jones will know how to get in touch with them or one of the other
regulars will.

Rita

PS Thank you so much for trying though

Will Hardeman and who ever is currently working with him are doing some sort of automated
data base thing http://www1.wkh.org which hasn't come to fruition in probably the 18
months they have been working on it. The original site is an emabarassment. You can email
Will and complain at [email protected] or alternately, you can email [email protected] Some
of us got an email in the last couple days from Will about this new site. I just told him
get the old one fixed, thats the one we see, and if the maintainers have dropped out, tell
the newsgroup so we can find some new ones. Mike

Mike,

I don't find a link to Jonathan's site at <http://www1.wkh.org>, which surprises me
because Jonathan's is a top notch, valuable site and it is usually linked anywhere that
the other sites shown at <http://www1.wkh.org> are linked. Why the glaring omission?

Regards, JEff there are no stupid questions, but there are a lot of inquisitive idiots

Jonathan's site is linked on the official FAQ pages for the NG. His, Alvena's and
Starwind's can be found on the "Mysterious Brown Envelope" link on the first page
of the FAQ.

Rita

PS Perhaps it is not listed because as Mike said the site has not been updated in
approximately 18 months. Prior to that Jonathan's site was just a website homepage.

Perdue,

My I-130 info never made it up on to the wkh.org site but your timeline and details, as
well as mine and several others, are at Kamya's site. http://www.kamya.com/interview/

So it is somewhere!

Thanks Ellen and Perdue. I thought there was a place on the well maintained Kamya site for
the I-130 and glad you have pointed it out.

I have an idea that will isolate us from maintainers who continually lose interest.

How about a text template that can be published on multiple web pages, such as this:

http://www.gani.com/immigration/i130sctemplate.txt

Now, we could either have everyone post their filled out timelines in this newsgroup,
with a specified, easily searchable (and ignorable by filter) header such as TEMPLATE
TIMELINE xxx yyyyy zzzz, OR, a new newsgroup such as alt.visa.us.marriage-based.timelines
could be created.

Now, this method is not as nice or convenient as looking at a chart, but it requires no
maintenance by any one person or group. As long as Deja is around, searching would be
easy. The creation of the templates is easy - almost anyone could do it - no programming
necessary, and they could be updated by suggestion very easily.

And, if someone in the future DID want to make a nice web page of timelines, they could do
it by searching/importing the Deja archives.

Please, no one fill out/post my sample template yet - this is just an idea.

Just FYI, this site is in the process of moving to www.marriagebasedvisas.org.
Someone will post when the site is up and running. (That may be a while, the
transition just started.) This link should be working, though; I will notify the
maintainer of your problems.
