Opening a bank account in the UK for my daughter
My family wish to start a savings account for my daughter in the UK to save the cost of transfers each time they want to add some money. I am visiting them in May and would like to open a bank account in my daughters name (she will be a year old at that point but not traveling with me).
It would be my intent to open it and have myself and maybe one UK family member as an authorised person on the account while she is a minor. Am I able to do this with her being a US citizen?

It may be easier for her grandparents to do so. https://www.saga.co.uk/magazine/money/personal-finance/giving/how-to-save-money-for-your-grandchild
Not sure how it works for a child living abroad.

Seems that getting an account if you are not resident, do not have the appropriate paperwork would be be impractical.
