Oh Noes! Chocolate wars...

Re: Oh Noes! Chocolate wars...
I know of three small businesses here that are going to be impacted quite significantly because of this. British chocs were a huge part of their inventory, especially at Easter and Christmas time. They are looking into seeking out other expat stockists around the country in hopes of discussing options available to them and/or a class action lawsuit, as this will hurt - perhaps close their business. At the very least researching a way around this issue. I hope they are successful. Strength in numbers.

I learned to swim in the Cadbury factory swimming pool. Beat that, Nutek.

But seriously, I am probably more pissed off about the Americanisation of Cadbury's than any other British company that has been bought up by an overseas company. The Cadbury family never would have screwed with the Creme Egg recipe.

I could've sworn it was 35,509 but there only seem to be 26,583. Guess I need new glasses ,
Anyway, several news outlets seem to have picked up on it, including Fox, HuffPost, BusinessInsider etc, so maybe something will happen, though unlikely in a positive form.

I grew up in Burrrrmingum. My neighbour worked at the factory and used to bring us bags of the chocolate waste. Yum yum.
We also had our annual school sports day at the recreation grounds there. Nice grass track and a steep bank you could roll down at speed if you got bored with watching people run around in circles.

My aunt used to bring those bags home as well. I remember we got Double Deckers before they went on sale to the public. All very exciting to a budding chocoholic.

.... Is Hershey's still pissed that they lost out to Kraft (spun into Mondelēz International) with purchasing Cadbury's? But, realistically probably saw this opportunity long ago as a cheap alternative to protect their backdoor than to acquiring their competitor - go after the supplier rather than the manufacturer.
Businesses in UK should boycott carrying Hershey's choc and products ... also go after the importers and stop Hershey's getting into the UK!!
We should create a class action against Hershey's for infringement for using the same thing which comes out of our arses to make their stuff.
Landrover did a similar thing to indy mechanic shops and after market part businesses over copyright and trademark infringement by using either the name (in part of variation) or logo.
So ... if they're arguing that its confusing the customers as to what they're purchasing (which they are obviously stupid in the first place), - just change the wrappers ...............
Its openly admitted that the Cadbury's made under license here (ahem Hershey's) use different ingredients ....

Still loads of people on the Hershey's FB page complaining. This pic about sums it up I think:
