Off home for a holiday in 3 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!
 

Hello

Just thought I would let everyone know I cant stand the homesickness anymore and am going home for a 3 week holiday on the 18th of April. Just booked it today. I dont think I paid too much either. $3600 for me and my 4 year old.

I am so excited I cant wait until tonight when I can get on the blower and tell everyone.

Hubby hopes it will make me realise what I have got out here. I say yeah whatever. I cant wait:D :) :D

How exciting for you. Like your hubby said this may help you realise what a good thing you have got, here or there!!!! This is what i want to do, get myself back to Blighty, do the usual, visiting friends, family. Look at houses etc, see what i really think i left behind and maybe come back here to OZ a better person..........or completely opposite and want to go straight back to UK...you just never know.

But have a great holiday anyway, hope it does help you in the long run to decide what you want.

Let us know how you get on.

By the way where in UK are you heading to?

Hope you have a great time back in Blighty. I had 3 weeks back home in January...it was wonderful...I enjoyed every moment. :thumbsup:

oh im soo jelous, we are hoping to go back for 4 weeks at xmas but it seems so far away!!


My hubby thinks the same a trip home will make me want to stay in oz i think he will have to drag me on the plane coming back to oz kicking and screaming lol:rofl:

Mmmmh I am leaving for my first visit back to Sheffield next Tuesday - looking forward to seeing all the family and freinds

Nicola, you lucky so & so!! I want to take the two kids back in July but we just can't afford $6300 flights to get us there :(

Mrs Best - I know my hubby is surprised I returned after my last vist two weeks ago, frankly so am I. For some people the return trip sorts out some feelings for me it is a band aid until the next one.

I remember TracyW coming back and stating one trip she made helped settle her here in Aus - but that feeling only lasted for a while :D - I can relate to that so much. My annual trips are now turning in to hopefully six monthly ones and sod the costs. The difficulty I see is that I have the return trips at the expense of spending holiday time here with my family.

I am looking to hopefully use frequent flyer miles for some trips that can reduce the cost of the flights over time.

Great news Nicola.I am sure you will have a wonderful time.Your doing the right thing!
We too go back next week scared and excited all at the same time.
Not sure if this move will be a permanent one but I have got to get back to be totally sure that its right for us.
It will be interesting to hear what you feel when you come back.
Today is a bad day as time slowly creeps up I am feeling sad.
My little girls friend at kindy said to her this moning that she will really miss her.
I just couldn't keep the tears away it was so upsetting.Also my son's best friend is the same .I just feel really awful today.
I am getting too old for all this.
I think I have been through all of this before.
Just pray it works out for us and I don't totally screw up everyones life.
You go and get your UK fix!

Yes I will let everyone know how it all went, there is so many of us in the same situation, we may as well share.lol
I am going to sheffield and will also head down to London for a couple of days to see hubbies sister and baby, then I will also pop over to blackburn a few times to stay with my sister and counsin.
I am definatley going to the designer outlet in York to stock up on stuff for my boys.
Cant wait!

Thanks Dreamaway I am hoping it will sort me out a bit for now at least. My kids and I cried when we left the UK and so did my friends and family so I imagine yours did too. You have just got to remember the bigger picture in all of this. For me that is, can I see myself becoming australian and living all the way over here for the rest of my life without any family or really close friends. My answer to that is no. Who knows how I will feel when I get back. Please let us all know how you get on though.

I must admit I begrudge spending the money and could spend it easily on renovating buttttttttttttttt, I think my sanity is worth a little more.lol
