Oh, I would say that there is a lot wrong with it and some of its fundamental components are doomed to fail over the long run. But it's better than what we had, and it may be an interim step to something better that the US can live with. (The status quo pre-Obamacare would have failed even sooner.)

Lowering the Medicare age to something such as 40 and turning ACA into a sort of 25-40 year old stop gap program would be an imperfect solution but far more sound than keeping ACA.

These premium savings you claim are not savings at all. They have been passed to the taxpayer instead of the individual. GDamn socialists....

CNS News is a L. Brent Bozell publication. Feel free to look up who that is.

I mean, seriously. Can't you guys find an actual news source to support your positions?

Sure there are problems with the ACA, and more needs to be done whether in modifying it or making a better system, but the pre-ACA era left many people without any coverage especially in regards to pre-existing conditions.

Isn't this the definition of civilized society?

Showing evidence of moral and intellectual advancement; humane, ethical, and reasonable. Looking after those that are unable to look after themselves.

Pre-ACA I could never find insurance, pre-existing conditions and all, some companies would in theory provide coverage, but the premiums exceeded my ability to pay so I went without.

I like ACA for the fact, I could in theory get insurance I could afford. I have only checked WA and CA websites for rates and the estimates given are always reasonable.

I'm unsure of the details of this (are there time limits on how long these can be offered for, etc).
Unless all plans are forced to comply with ACA, then it's all a waste of time. The only affordable plans are the ones that don't comply with it.

My wife has had her plan "ressurected" at least twice (if not three times) after being told in writing that her plan is going away, because the government keep deferring the requirements, to avoid even more policies being cancelled.

Aetna's exit deals blow to Obamacare, patients

On a personal note a friend of a friend who is on oxygen has just been told no more oxygen on his plan. Not sure how that can be done presumably mid term?

I'm reasonably happy with my ACA compliant plan. It costs me about the same as the Cobra fees for my last group plan. I am willing to pay the price because it covers everything major. Allowing some non-compliant plans doesn't render the entire system 'a waste of time'.

This has more to do with the Feds blocking the Aetna Humana merger than anything else.

If that is the case, and who knows, then that is even worse.

I didn't say it was good:-)

Just read a report that suggests Aetna was actually profitable in Pennsylvania but has pulled out of that exchange anyway. Sounds like leverage to me.

Some more background. Interestingly they were calling ACA participation a " "a good investment" as recently as April:
