Same here. It basically is run once a week, when totally loaded. If my OH (why do men like being lord of the dishwasher?!) thinks it isn't full enough, he will take a couple of dinner plates out and wash them by hand so we can go an extra day . . .

My wife prefers if I load the dishwasher as I can always manage to fit so much more in then she does. Once I have it filled there is no usable room left.


Modern dishwashers take like double the time of old ones, suppose it uses less water and needs more time?

Our cycles are 1hr 10m and 1hr 54 min with a quick rinse option of 35 mins.

Same with front loader 63 mins is the normal wash where all the front loaders I have had were like 35 mins.


Use hot water in our front loader and the cycle is 90 mins.

There is a quick wash option of 30 but not very good at cleaning.

My wife must be lady of the dishwasher, I put stuff in, she will rearrange it all! No more in, none out just picky I guess lol

I hear all of you and agree but hubby refuses to allow the dishwasher to be used. It is not a big deal to me, honestly, since it is only the two of us and I prefer not to leave dirty dishes in the dishwasher, or the sink for that matter, until there is a full load. He who must be obeyed, insists that he do the dishwashing when we have a large group for dinner. I prefer to pick my fights with him who is stubborn, opinionated, headstrong and militaristic after 36 years in the RCAF. It's a small win for him but it isn't the war. Beside the washer came with the house and must be at least 10 years old so it is safe to say it is not efficient.

My BIL is like that with the dishwasher. Apparenlty the rest of us are too stupid to understand how to load it properly.

I have a specific way of stacking my dishwasher, so I optimize all the space. My daughter and husband put things anywhere, which annoys me.

I don’t allow my husband to empty the dishwasher because a) he doesn’t put things away in their correct place...and yes I like all cup/mug handles to face the same way. b) Gawd knows where he puts things but some never see the light of day again.

I'm usually the one that does the dishes and I despair at the way my wife shovels everything in higgledy-piggledy on those rare occasions she does it.

Well I thought it a more sensible question than asking if after having a weeks holiday in the Mouse House I want to move and live in Florida, would buying a pool cleaning business help me get a GC?

Some top loaders are made tone deaf and cannot sing.

We do have a routine. I usually load and he unloads and we always run it overnight .
