If being used as the only vehicle then all electric vehicles are fine ..if you are the sort of person/family who only travels around your neighbourhood, aren't seriosusly into: DIY/Home improvement, hobbies like woodworking, metalworking , recreational activities that utilize snowmobiles, atvs, dirtbikes etc..

Ofcourse if your home remodelling is only occasional then you can rent a pickup from Uhaul,Home Depot etc.

For me, nothing but a fullzise pickup makes sense. Cars and SUVs just don't have the utility of a pickup.

True, but are there any under 20k pick ups that get the same efficiency on fuel as a small car?

Just curious as I don't know, and a truck would be nice, but has to be under 20k, and fuel efficient for us to even consider.

The electric cost based on 15,000km a year for a leaf is estimated to be 350 dollars for this region according to BCAA.

On gas savings alone not too bad, but once the extra cost to obtain is factored in, I wonder if there really is any savings vs the same class gas powered car?

395 for a 2014 Tesla S

Obviously they likely excel in greenhouse gases emitted, Tesla is estimated to produce 0.28 tonnes per year in electricity production.

*For BC based on BCAA.*

I drove a 2015 Ford F150 crewcab 4x4 for around 3500 miles over a few days. The fuel econo meter said I was getting 24 mpg , and my speed was around 65-70mph. I got 25.5 when I went down to 55-60mph.

The 2 door F150 2wd MSRP is around 27,000. Don't know how much dealers knock off on that. The aforementioned truck would get better fuel economy than the 1 I drove.

Dodge has a Ram 1500 with a small Italian diesel, that gets 28mpg.

If your are ok with used , I think you can get a decently kitted later model 25mpg fullsize petrol truck.

Never seen such a sparse interior! Minimalistic I guess

My Metro from way back when had more mod cons!

You owned a Metro? And you admit to it?

My first car was an Ital.

For me, i'll never buy an electric because the way the trannys work in them its impossible to make one with a manual transmission, and I prefer that to an automatic. They're also outrageously expensive.

The only good thing about driving an Allegro was that driving anything else made you feel like royalty.

Austin Allegro: how the worst car of all time came to be made
A friend back in the UK (still) has an Allegro Vanden Plas. It's like the bastard offspring of an Allegro and a Jaguar XJ6.

I had to do an image search on that. OMG, I had forgotten about that front end. I guess it was a couple of decades too soon for a Burberry paint job.

Which one? The 1300cc fancy version of the Austin 1100 (IIRC a few early Princesses had the 1100 engine), or the much larger wedge-shaped thing of the mid-late 70's?

I have seen one of the ones related to the Austin 1100 here in NC - the rear bodywork, especially around the rear window, is different from the 1100, enough to make it look a little odd.
