I bought the turbo, with heated leather seats, a moonroof, and a spoiler that pops up by itself at 93 miles per hour...very useful.
hehe this is indeed my car - altho the spoiler pops up at 50 - this was a must as its the only way I know im going over the speed limit!!!

My first 3 cars were bugs. :D

My Dad had the first one in NH had to be back in 1958 or so.

Yup, wouldn't be my first choice for sure in New England, or the UP of Michigan etc, but they do have 'em.

Had a mechanic tell me years ago, that an engine that ran on diesel would outlast one run on gas.

Had a friend who used to race Porsche's for a living in the late 60s. He had an accident, hit a tree at 120mph in a 911 and almost cost him his life. They told him he'd never walk again but he proved them wrong. He took the old Porsche 911 engine (rear mounted) and put it in a 1973 Bug. It was the fastest Bug around! I have vivid memories of being in the back of that Bug doing 70+ around the country lanes of Surrey at night. Exhilarating.

I was tempted by Bugs when I moved here but having driven a big old van and a couple of small cars since I doubt I'll ever buy a bug, too many idiots just pull out in front of small cars around here where as if I was in my knackered G20 they even back up a little to make sure they're out my way so I'm determined to get a big truck next, screw the mpg I'll live much longer stressing about money than I will swearing at idiot drivers or crashing in to them.
