One thing we get from the locals homes here in New England is the lack of any art in anyones homes. Prints or originals. The wife and I have a theory that its the expense. Alison's pictures seem to represent real value. On the east coast its a shed load, $2,500 and up for something fairly small. In the uk we bought afew pics, we've got a couple who have since become sindicated artists and a bloke who won Water Colour Challenge! Point is we'd have to really tighten our belts but we've only bought one picture here in the 3 years since we moved to the us.

Here's hoping to her continued success.
Funny you should say that... it's now hanging in someone's hallway in a beautiful apartment in London!

Here's a great opportunity for those of you who have been tempted by Alison's art, but haven't yet taken the plunge.

UGallery are holding a summer sale between now and Monday, with 20% off everything on their site with the code "summer20". This is by far the biggest discount they've ever offered.

There's some really amazing art on the site, so even if Alison's work isn't your style it's certainly worth a look.

Beautiful, 'Sunrise' and 'Al Fresco' are just gorgeous. If only I didn't have to pay for my son's car insurance.

What's one more uninsured motorist compared to fine art, eh?

One of the many canvases on Alison's easels this week takes an artistic look at the world through the infra-red lens that I'm very used to in my line of business...

NOTE: It's much smaller than most of Ali's work, at 18"x18", and it's destined for a local art show next month.

Meanwhile, Crepe Myrtles is finished... but doesn't look quite like it did last week!

OK, I just have to say it...

The only thing that impresses me more here regarding your wife's art is the way that it transforms you from arrogant wanker, in matters of immigration, to doting hubby. Which is real, Dr. DBJ or Mr. 1000?

"Impermanence"
Oil on board
(c) 2010 Alison Jardine

This painting is about loss, grief, death, and living with these burdens.

The glasses are broken, but all their shards are contained within them.
