A few months ago my daughter came down with Covid, but all tests were negative. IMO she caught it from her daughter, who had a mild infection for a day or two. My daughter had all the symptoms, her joints ached so bad she couldn’t climb stairs and slept on the sofa for almost a week. She couldn’t keep food or fluids down. 6 days in, she spoke to an ER doctor who specializes in Covid patients. He said she had Covid, prescribed meds and said if she couldn’t keep fluids down after 48 hrs, she would need to be admitted to hospital and put on an IV. Fortunately the meds worked, after 10 days she felt much better.
Of course everything is blamed on Covid. Did she have a flu test or strep test run? Especially if your granddaughter was sick. Kids seem to pass strep around all the time! |

We had positive tests but much milder and fewer symptoms. The worst symptoms were the cough and sore throat. After that it was just tiredness but then that might be age and a crazy life right now !

Hope you are feeling better and that everything went smoothly today. Safe travels as you wend your way north over the coming days.

Thanks Lizzie but.... After I wrote about being a pessimist last weekend we were told the buyers lender did not appraise our house for the amount they needed for their mortgage. We said we were not going to drop the price and if that was the case then the sale was off. On Monday we got a call that it was being appealed and by Monday night it was back on with appraisal being met. But because of this hold up the closing changed from Friday and is now on Monday. Our furniture was moved out on Thursday and is on it's way to Pittsburgh and we are in a hotel until Monday paid for by our buyer as we have allowed them to lease our home until we sign off on Monday. I wasn't happy about the leasing because I had visions of them squatting there and not showing for the closing:sneaky:...crazy, but you never know. So we asked to meet them first. So on Friday morning they came to the house and now I am a lot more comfortable about it all. They are a early 50ish couple and the guy has just started work as the head Fire Marshall in the area..so squatting in a house wouldn't look to good for his future! So we are relaxing, saying a few goodbyes to friends and waiting for 9am on Monday when we will finally close. Just as a Tropical Depression is supposed to start here on the coast:ohmy: Oh and I finally tested negative for Covid this evening! I had more Texas BBQ to celebrate:lol: |
Re: New adventures
Our lovely Irish/English friends are cooking us a good old English roast dinner tonight. Even though it is 101°F today.
We will really miss these guys:( |

Re: New adventures
And it's all over with. House is sold and money is in the bank!
And we are on the road spending tonight just outside Birmingham Alabama. We left the Title Office at 9:45 this morning and arrived at this hotel at 8:45 tonight. We figure if we leave early in the morning we can arrive at our daughter's house about 8:30 tomorrow night. I'm tired of hotels so the sooner we get there the better! We were going to make it a leisurely trip but we just want to be able to relax . It's been a crazy few weeks. And now we need to find some where to live, either rent or buy. We still haven't decided. As much as we love our daughter and grandkids we don't want to stay with them too long because we do like our quiet life for some of the time and that doesn't happen around a 3 and 6 year old:lol: Half way to our new life now on a one way roadtrip. It feels weird:confused: |

Seconded! All the best. Hope you are going to become Steelers fans!
Steelers/Penguins/Pirates for city teams and then all the college sports too. The place gets very busy when the Steelers and Pitt have home football games the same weekend! |
