This was an issue in the house from last week that we terminated buying. It had a high reading after the 48 hour test so another reason why I'm glad we changed our mind.

If it gets to be too high just put the super powers it gives you to good use. The bigger problem is thinking of a suitable super hero name. Most of the good ones are taken.

Now we just have to wait for the Title Company to start on the paperwork. We are hoping for a closing date by the end of July:fingerscrossed:

Excellent news! I'm sure that you can fill the next few weeks with all sorts of diversions, starting with Picklesburgh this weekend

Just curious - how does this new area in PA compare to your old area in TX, as far as house pricing goes - $/sq ft, size of lots, etc?

The house we are buying is about the same size as the house we sold in Texas but not as many lots. The PA house is about $70k less than the TX house.

Roll up the sleeping bag and take down the tent. Glad you have a place of your own, at last.

Thanks guys:thumbsup:

I spent today sorting out utilities. Everything was going ok, I got electricity, gas and internet sorted out really easily but then I contacted the Water and Sewer department for the Township and it went haywire! I called and a very nice lady told me to go online to their website and fill out the application and then when they receive it they will call me back. So I did, 3 times, each time it said rejected. I called back and spoke to Chuck who sent me a different link to try so I tried again and it still rejected me. Ok, their office is only 10 minutes away so we decide to drive over there and try and figure out why it is rejecting. Chuck found a form for us to fill out and after a lot of laughing and joking with us being Brits and not sounding like Texans and calling M "Walter White" he tells us it is being rejected because there is a previous balance of $38.58 that has to be paid before it can be connected in our name! Err..thats not our bill or our responsibility. But to get water we had to pay . I know it sounds petty and it's not a lot of money but surely they know who owes it and they can send them a bill, send them to collections or whatever but why hold it over our heads ?? Anyway I begrudgingly paid it and miraculously our application was approved. I called our realtor and she is making sure this is being reimbursed to us on Friday. It is so wrong, if we hadn't paid then we wouldn't have been connected. M worked for nearly 30 years for a City Water Department and had never come across this before!

Oh well, I'm sure there will be other frustrations before we are through!!

Frustrating indeed, I would think the Title company would be expected to deal with these issues. Yourself needing to sign on as the new user for utilities should be a formality Albeit a couple of days before closing!
I cannot bear to remember the shit I had to wade through to get my house that was a HUD sale.

Wouldn't a threatening look from Heisenberg have been enough?
