The early ones anyway. Me and Mrs Ski watched The Pillow Book once because I told the wife you get to see Ewan McGregor's cock. Well, you do, but the rest of the film was an incredibly long turgid lump, too.
One day I'll get her to watch The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover, but it'll be difficult trying to sell it to her after that last one. |

You get to see cock in that one too. It's a delicacy.

Re: Netflix
Bloody LoveFilm are pants. Sent the latest DVD back on Saturday morning, but the site is STILL not showing it as having been received (currently 7:30 p.m. Wednesday GMT). The nearest depot can't be more than a couple of hours away.
Sorry, had to get that off my chest. I think one of the standards for these idiots should be if you watch a movie at the weekend and pop it in the post, the replacement should arrive in time for the following weekend. Donkeys. :curse: |

Sent a DVD back in the mail Monday...got another yesterday. I must admit I'm loving the 3rd series of Dexter...especially as Jimmy Smits is in it.

Sorry to keep droning on about LoveFilm, but there's another thing. Some movies are not available to rent, only to buy. No idea what that is about. (I can't rent Kick-Ass, only buy it).

Netflix is such a brilliant and profitable service that I can't believe no one in the UK has decided to buy up LoveFilm and inject a ton of cash into it to make it as good. The model is so simple and effective. However, as many have said, even the basic model for Netflix here is changing rapidly, and maybe it would be better for LoveFilm to move direct to a streaming-only service rather than expand the mail-order service.
I reported the disk that went AWOL, BTW, and they sent the replacement immediately (ended up with Iron Man II). 60 minutes in, it started the old click-whirr-click, etc., so I took it out to clean it. Bloody thing was broken (the coating had been stripped off one part) so the rest of it was unplayable. :curse: LoveFilm is one of those companies that masquerades as other companies (Sofa Cinema, for example, was LoveFilm in disguise). I cancelled my LoveFilm membership a long time ago and tried other companies (like Sofa Cinema, turned out to be the same company ). I eventually found the Amazon DVD rental and they were great, always quick, allowed you to list your choices as 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. I loved it. About 4 months later I opened the paper and guess what - Amazon DVD rental was being bought up by LoveFilm! So it went back to crap service within weeks. I really miss NetFlix. |
