Premium Hulu, but it doesn't have the big movie catalogue.
Also, my local cable provider (Cox) keeps sending me announcements that they have online streaming now on their website, so I'll have to check that out soon. My problem is, I like really obscure stuff, especially foreign movies from Iran, Turkey, and Middle East in general. Most of the sites out there only have Hollywood-type current movies available, or TV shows that I never watch. That's why I picked Netflix, because they had such a wide selection of foreign films. Re: Netflix
Netflix recently 'lost' the Starz content deal - which gives access to Spartacus and Camelot (which are both pants btw) and also Disney stuff like Toy Story 3; around 8% of their current inventory. I say 'lost' because a lot of people think it is a negotiating tactic as there is still 6 months left on the contract. It's likely though that Netflix will let them go and move on to negotiating directly with content providers rather than networks.
The one to watch could be Hulu Plus as it looks like Google will be buying them and throwing a ton of money at the brand. Looks like they could be the next big competitor to Netflix. However Amazon shouldn't be discounted as they are the owners of Lovefilm in the UK and have an increasing amount of stuff available to prime subscribers. Either way the online streaming market is hotting up and becoming more competitive which can only be a good thing. |

They lost it. It's not being renewed because Disney and Sony have exclusively signed up their online content else where. That's why this is such a fuss.

I know Iran has a number of good movie makers, but Turkey I do not know, the few things I have seen from Turkey have been pretty bad; so any recommendations, maybe in the movie thread would be appreciated.

If they continued to offer Starz through Netflix, why would people continue to subscribe to the Starz premium channel. HBO has also boasted the number of on demand movies but not as agressively as Starz. |

Good listing on the alternatives, now that Netflix are determined to go out of business with the spinning off of the DVD business, Qwikster? Seriously? What a load of kack. |

Well now we know why. They're splitting off the DVD by mail service and calling it "Qwikster" Someone deserves a "Qwik" kick in the nads for that name alone.
Everything has gone wrong for Netflix and they keep making things worse. They will actually have about 600,000 fewer subscribers at the end of this month than at the end of June due to the muck up. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/44582868?gt1=43001 |
