The missus is getting a ride home from a friend as they're done at 2, so at least we don't have to go out and get her in our weedy car.
So it's a statewide ban for non emergency workers/ploughs/municiple folks, from 4pm.

$500 fine and potentially a year jail time.

The midday thing was a street parking ban in Boston and most cities.

Glad the missus was able to get a ride home because there's at least a couple of inches of snow out and the town so far hasn't done anything about it. The roads were horrid.

She spoke to someone who works in a 24/7 McD's who said they weren't closing and no mention of putting them up in the hotel across the street after work and not being able to drive. Just a bit mental and mean, especially as pretty much no one will be going there :/

It's been snowing steadily here since 10pm last night, we now have maybe 24 inches accumulation. That's more than the total they originally predicted.. Nothing here is closing down early or anything.. just a normal winter's day!

Coming down hard now... Bout a foot so far.

Cake supplies depleted... Emergency icecream may have to be deployed before this is over.

It stopped snowing here in NYC a few hours ago. We have a few inches of snow but nothing major. It's supposed to start up again. We'll see what happens.

Snowing heavily. Almost 18 hrs of snow but less than a foot on the ground. Heavy, wet snow that compresses quickly.

My Boss' Boss is in Boston, and it was announced this morning that their office would close at noon today. When I got back from lunch, my Boss had gone home. I stayed all day, because I did not notice she was gone. Doh!

It's still snowing, coming down sideways, which is a little weird.

Something like 250K people are without power in New England the last report said.

We still have it, but where we used to live, half that town lost power this evening.

How tall is a Mini? Cos we have more snow than that.

Looks like about three feet on the ground.... Drifts up to five feet or so.
Plows stopped as they cant move enough snow to make it up the street.

Pics later, once I figure out how to get out of the house.

Oh, and its still snowing.

Aye, about 3 feet of snow here and another foot or two in drifts.

We can't see our picnic table in the garden.

Can't actually open the door to get out for that matter :/

400K people without power in MA, 650K in total of 8 states...

We were in Somerville, MA, during the blizzard of 1978. We got ten days off work with full pay.. That was a good deal! The cross country skiing up and down Broadway was fun..

Back to today, just got a text from our daughter on Cape Cod. They've been without power since last night, she says 160,000 without power on the Cape. She says they have six inches on the ground and it is still falling and much too windy as yet for the power crews to do anything..

Hope you have shovels. And that you keep your power. I have no idea why the richest country in the world with plenty of rough weather is unable to fix the power cut issue. Happens here all the time, due to high winds.
