Default Nashville hotel area recommendations pls!

We have decided to go to Nashville for a couple of days when the MIL gets here (so I wont go completely crazy having her here for 3 weeks). Im trying to find us a hotel but dont know where we want to be. Are we better off in the Opryland area or downtown? We dont want to spend much more than $100 per night, and was looking on hotwire but not knowing the best place to be is making planning difficult~!

As I remember, there isn't much in the downtown area so I'd say Opryland, but not an expert.

Try one of the websites that review hotels in different cities and give you the costs of such. We use tripadvisor a fair bit.....expedia, hotwire, travelocity etch....

There is a Brand New Holiday Inn Express, across the street from Opryland, which offers a free hot breakfast.

Out by the airport, you have a fairly new Drury Inn, which offers a free hot breakfast, free cocktails between 5:30pm and 7pm, along with free hot snacks, too.

I stay at both of them quite a bit. Fairly decent, with several good restaurants close by.
