Name That Film II
At Sugarmoma's request, the producers have got together and knocked off another cheap and nasty "straight to video" production of "Name That Film"
Answers posted later on if anyone still cares. These are pretty easy (except maybe for #'s 3 & 7) So start-off hints might be:
#3. The Captain was in cryo freeze and there was this wierd balloon alien.
#4. Along the lines of the "Sixth Sense", but better IMHO

Ok, these maybe need to be a bit more obscure. Movie #4 was also known as "Dr. Strangeglove or How I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb"
Incidentally, "Failsafe" came out at the same time and was eclipsed at the box office - pity, as its a terrific film in its own right and a very similar plot, tho much darker. Henry Fonda, I tink.As for #7, heavy plot hint *Kevin Bacon & Mrs have a young son who has the ability to see into the other side*
