Moving Companies UK-USA

Could someone please recommend a good removals company to get my stuff from UK to USA (London to Sacramento).

I'm currently looking at Seven Seas. I like the look of their move cubes which seem convenient, but have read some bad reviews for them and am a little hesitant. I don't need help lifting anything into a truck. It's mostly just boxes of clothing, books, household clutter etc.

I'm also a little confused about customs costs. Am I expected to pay customs for the items going into the US even though they've been in my home for XYZ number of years beforehand?

Help appreciated. Hope this is the right place to post.

No, if you declare the stuff as personal items, then there is no duty payable.

Can't vouch for any shippers, we did it ourselves.

Trivial question - why is 'removals' the term used here, and not 'moving'? I'd expect a 'removals company' to be something you called to get rid of an infestation, or similar.
