Default Movie recommendations?

So my in laws may be visiting this weekend and have suggested the wife and I go out while they look after the baby. We were trying to think of things that we really can't do when we have her and thought of the cinema (but we may just end up out for a few drinks and something to eat, or a walk though), the problem is we have no idea what films are out at the moment and worth seeing. Any suggestions?

Not really, ideally not Hollywood tat - like the quality. Actually I just remembered there's a cool independent not too far from me so I'll have to look into what they have on.

Anyone seen The Savages, or Persepolis?

There Will Be Blood sounds reasonable but a bit on the long side.

If you like really long, slow and boring films this is the one to see.

I think I'd already decided this is one to wait for on DVD if at all.

Juno- terrific teenage pregnancy dramedy.
Sweeny Todd- gothic musical, slightly gory
No Country for Old Men- great thriller, slightly gory
National Treasure: Book of Secrets- surprisingly enjoyable if braindead adventure movie.

I second that. The missus dragged me along to this, and I was pleasantly surprised.
