A childhood friend of my mums threw the party, he was an unofficially adopted brother of hers. He knows a lot of tv and stage people so my grandparents got to meet them. Mavis from Corrie was there too. My grandparents had a lot of fun with them.

It does sound like a grandparent sort of event

I loved Mavis. She reminded me of my mother - a little naive but sweet.

I sat next to her once on a flight from Manchester to London. She was quite funny. I also met her husband at Heathrow, the guy who played Lucian in The Liver Birds.

Don't know, not a family member, would he have hung out with that lot or possibly Barbara Windsor. I was told she was not invited because she drinks too much and gets stupid. The chap throwing the party also knew Danny La Rue. What does Sir Christopher Beeching do?

Actors seem to fit the theme. Beryl Reid was there, she lived in Wraysbury where my Nanny lived. I found this and Barbara Windsors comment seemed funny given what I was told about her.
