Meanwhile in Florida

Re: Meanwhile in Florida
A slightly nice story out of Florida, apparently a man was out with his puppy, and a gator nabbed it, man went into water got gator and freed the puppy who had minor injuries.
It was a small gator though, which was lucky for the dog.

Video isn't graphic, and the dog is safe.

Since then, locally, we've had a body in a trash can, sealed (presumably with duct tape) and left in a neighbour's carport until such a time as was convenient to retrieve... Floridaman waits for no man.

Re: Meanwhile in Florida
Takes time sometimes for the news to filter up to us in western Canada.
I am not sure of the exact details of it as to when it occurred, but some reason youtube recommended a press conference (previously recorded) a Sheriff did, and holy man, these teens ran a lady over apparently, and she eventually died, the people involved where between 14 and 18, apparently a girl (15) and her ex (the son of the lady killed) had some sort of post break up drama, and she got her current BF and their misfit friends to go over and beat her ex up or something, but anyhow end result the driver (18 year old) chose to run her over rather than back up or drive around her, all caught on video as well apparently.
The driver borrowed the van from a church his dad apparently is a pastor at or something.
I will give the Sheriff dude some credit, he is talented at story telling.

Re: Meanwhile in Florida
There’s a heartwarming update to this story. The (very cute) dog has now been sworn in as a sheriff’s deputy.

A further update reveals that the alleged cute dog is actually racist and is facing an investigation after a complaint was lodged by a neighbourhood cat of it's treatment by the dog. Apparently several other cats have come out in support and one was seen displaying a sign that read Black Cats Matter. Sheriff's office have made no statement.

It's far more varied than that. I've only been there once but saw quite a few different types.

On the positive side, the bird and insect life is spectacular. Tropical fish right off the beach. Gorgeous nature reserves.

Yup, my missus observed Florida in it's full glory last week, she said it's probably the most surreal thing she's ever seen. The local convention center was holding it's regular gun show, so there were lots of trucks and bellies and general maskless derps all over the place, except for one small corner of the parking lot where the covid testing site has been for months now, complete with a queue of masked up folk waiting to get tested...
