Well it's not closed yet, but it's not looking good. Wont be long now until all my childhood places will be gone, first the Odeon in Cheltenham, next Cascades!

wow the odeon in cheltenham, thats going back a few years. My hubby remembers going there as a kid.

The Odeon closed a few weeks ago, very sad. Will miss going there when I go home to visit.

Oh right, I was thinking of the one that used to be in the Royal Bank of Scotland Building, you know opposite Gap and Habitat.

I didn't realise the other one had closed, has a new one been opened, or does everyone have to venture over to the other world, known as Gloucester.

We are going back for a visit in May/June next year, first one in 2.5 years, so will be interesting to so what has changed.

Yeah, a big multiplex opened up. They finally redeveloped the old brewery with a lot of stuff. Unfortunately once that opened the Odeon sales dropped something silly like 90%.

Funnily enough, we're going back in May/June next year as well. A lot has changed in 2.5 years.

I saw Star wars in the odeon, couldn't believe it when they annouced it was closing down. The old ABC behind Neptune's fountain must have closed years back. Been a good few years since i was back in town, and even then I was glad to get away as it had pretty much changed beyond all recognition

I miss my drinking nights out at the Cotswold and Do'bells

oh and surprisingly enough we may well be back there in the summer at some point too

Yes, ex resident and now in NE OH as well. Very strange. I saw Star Wars there too, well, the crappy episode 1.

Its such a small world - I too spent many an hour at both the Odean and the ABC (remember the kids show on a Saturday morning). Just to add to the ex resident thing - I too am in NE Ohio !!

I was waaaaay much younger then when i saw episode 4 back in 77/78/79 (can't remeember exactly what year it was). My sister was telling me all about the changes at the old Whitbread brewery only this weekend (she's about to scarper from there too, not going too far.......... New Zealand )
