Agreed. I brush it back into a ponytail and then bring it over my shoulder and cut the ends off once in a while -- did it yesterday, in fact! If I did decide to go for a mohawk or something fancy, I have three heavy duty multi-speed small animal clippers with about 20 assorted blades that I use to groom my poodles.

I'm with the short hair ladies. I'm desperate for a trim and seriously looking for a hair shaver/trimmer and willing to visit my daughter and have her weld the thing at the back of me head. I trimmed the areas above and behind my ears but can't do the back.

Longish crazy curly hair. I mostly braid or pigtail it to keep it tame. I am in hippy mode

Bit the bullet and bought rechargeable beard trimmers off Amazon. The wife then cut my hair. I must say she did a good job - mine is an easy cut, #1 trim all over. I don't think I will need to visit a barber again, and save money, although it may cost me more in tips (meals out when restaurants open again).
The wife says I can't reciprocate with her hair though......

It’s just so much quicker in the shower when the hair is gone. Even the comb gets a holiday for several weeks.

Fringe is definitely too long. I caught it in the tension discs of the sewing machine while making yesterday's patriotic mask
Yes, I know it has the wrong flag on it for St George's Day, but it was what I had in my fabric stash.

The mask is very nice and fits neatly (a friend kindly made one for me, but I can't get it to sit properly and it's given me a stye in my left eye!) ---- but I have a bad case of bookcase envy. They just get filled far too rapidly . . . watching the experts being interviewed at home on the TV news, I'm always mooning over the bookcases in the background!

Do you have any spare ones for sale? Wearing M's spare shop masks right now but I would love something more fancy!

I am not sure this is "a little thing", though it doesn't impact me personally, and it's almost more of a WTF! but I was just looking at the USPS web site earlier this morning and saw that the USPS has a list of countries that you cannot currently send mail to, because of coronavirus. If you send anything to those countries it will be stamped that it can't be transported to that country and returned to the sender.
There are currently 28 countries that are not accepting international mail - per the national mail service in that country, and a further 82 countries that the USPS does not have transport available to get mail to that country, That's 110 countries that are inaccessible for mail service!!!!

I am beginning to agree that Cities as a concept might be on the wane. I was listening to a call with the owner of Redfin a couple of days ago and he said that the majority of traffic to the site coming from cities was now looking at property outside of cities.
This might be the insatiable consequence of people realizing they don't actually need to go to an office everyday.

This is an interesting report by the BBC on how the coronavirus has impacted the consumption of alcohol in public in the US and the attitude of people and law enforcement towards "open container" laws. One comment in the article is perhaps portentous - "it will be difficult to put the genie back in the bottle". Certainly as consumption of alcohol outdoors/ in public has increased, and it has not lead to chaos and mayhem, ..... but has increased tax revenue, there is a good argument to be made for a more pragmatic view about comsumption of alcohol in public. Perhaps it is significant that prohibition was repealed during the great depression (1933), and we are currently facing a doozie of a recession thanks to coronavirus.

The USPS has even gone back to using ships for mail due to lack of flights. USPS had largely done away with surface international quite a few years ago, but guess with lack of airline flights they have to use whatever form of transportation they can find.
My mom sent me something, normally it takes 7 days, routes Palm Springs-Los Angeles onto Vancouver, this time it went Palm Springs to Los Angeles to Phoenix to Chicago to Toronto to Vancouver, and I still haven't received it, last scan was last Saturday in Toronto area so presumably its in a truck somewhere between there and Vancouver.
