Just got hammered by Which magazine. But it is competition for Delta on both their AMS and LHR routes, and will help to keep prices reasonable hopefully.

BIG time
just flown Austin-LHR with them for the first time in a couple of years. Economy was the worst level of service/food/toilets I've experienced on a long haul flight ever. 4 toilets for the whole of economy meant that there was always a queue. Only 2 staff dishing out awful food ( chicken curry had 5 tiny pieces of chicken). No wine/soft drinks offered with food, no coffee refills offered. Breakfast was dried up tiny croissant with processed cheese and some sort of jam inside - inedible - and a fig breakfast bar. I asked they had any snacks for my hungry teen since meal was tiny and was told no- they didn't have enough for the whole plane.
I've kept a BA visa card to get the "free flight" and companion flight but it still cost over $1k for 2 with taxes and fees. However, during winter there is no alternative to a non-stop flight USA-UK, so I guess that explains the lack of interest in providing anything like a good customer experience.
I flew economy United SFO-Taipei a few months back. It was great and cheaper.
