That is the top of the range engine, well there is the Raptor version.

You soon get used to the size.

But it’s fully loaded, my 2 kids love it, and where as I wouldn’t want one permanently, as a novelty, it’s bloody fantastic!!! I think I can sort of see the appeal in owning a decent truck.
And I can sort of see why they gave it to you as a loaner!

I thought I saw there was a V8 engine available? I’ve got it for about 2 weeks. It’s gonna seem strange going back to my daily transit connect LOL. Even when I get in my Mustang, it seems like I’m sat on the floor.
I drive a raptor briefly and had a bit of a blast on a closed taxiway and thought it was pretty impressive, now I’d really love to try one on the roads. Never thought I’d hear myself say I was impressed by a truck

Think that's why I was nervous about getting another truck, especially after going from the GTI. I assumed a truck would feel very primitive.

Mine has electric/heated seats, WiFi, Apple CarPlay and a few other little toys that makes it really nice to live with day to day. They are very impractical though. The extremely rare times I go into the office I struggle to find a spot as they're mostly made for 'compact' cars etc. For anything else it's very practical. I've hauled as much crap as I can fit in the back, firewood and my motorbike a few times and I love it.

Get a truck!

I finally got around to watching the GT season finale last night. You guys weren't wrong, that was a bloody good one.

They even said 'how hard can it be' at one point

My wife watched it again last night as she was doing homework when I watched it.

Walked in just at the point where Clarkson was brake testing James May. Had me in stitches.

My wife fell asleep during it so I'll get to watch it again tonight probably

Poor May was having a hell of a time though. "Bugger off. Please" was a personal highlight.

Yep, I’ve changed my mind, although as I said, if I owned one, I’m not sure if the novelty would wear off. I spent my working life at Heathrow in a Mitsubishi L200 and a Ford Ranger. It’s safe to say this F150 is considerably different LOL.
Incidentally, I used to think the passion for huge SUV’s was a little daft. Who would want to ride about in something like a Tahoe? Then I started my job as a crash investigator for NHTSA, and having seen how those things fair in a crash, especially rear end, I now get the appeal of those too

Yeah, you can say a lot about pick ups, but primitive ain’t one of them, at least the modern ones. As for getting one, the gas bill would bankrupt me LOL.

Luckily me getting one coincided with me working from home permanently! If I drive like a moron I get about 13mpg, but on a long run I can see about 18-23mpg!

You're also in CA, so registering one will be a small fortune!

To be fair to Hammond, that 800 quid bike he got seemed pretty rugged! I wouldn't mind one of those to run around on

The only thing I wish they'd cut out would be the bit where they 'nicked' the ice machine. It was pretty funny but to be fair I'm being pedantic by complaining about 20 seconds out of 60 minutes!

Hammond's bike was pretty decent for £800.00, yeah.

The ice machine bit was silly, but didn't really ruin anything either.

From recent social media stuff from the 3 of them it looks like they just got done filming in Columbia. Should be interesting! One of my favorite episodes was the Bolivia special where they purchased the three off-roaders and drove across the death road etc.

If I remember rightly... May had a hairdresser special that was 3 wheel drive

Is that normal mpg for the 3.6 V6 or have you got a heavy foot? My 5l V8 got better mileage than your 13mpg and I do like the old Le Mans start/ hooligan drive.
