You are probably OK on I 25 and the Turnpike, well I 25 in the Denver area.

There is Code 16 which requires chains, never heard of that one being enacted.

And here are five passes in a Ferrari F2004, which give a better impression of what it might look like with more modern cars. Apparently a Viper takes about 1:33 to do a lap of Laguna Seca, a modern track sports car can lap around 1:20 - these laps were around 1:07-1:08!

A Grand Prix at Laguna Seca would be really cool to see. I've always loved that track in the Gran Turismo racing games.

I think they tend to use it more for bikes than cars though, but I could be wrong.

It was a regular track on the CART/Champ Car series for many years, including when Nigel Mansell drove for Newman-Hass. I think it is still used by Le Mans-style sports cars.

It is often discussed when there is talk of finding a decent F1 track in the US, and it is fairly short, but the stumbling block is usually given as "inadequate run-off areas". The same reason is given for not taking F1 back to Watkins Glen.

I think the better US Grands Prix were the street courses anyway. Detroit, Phoenix and all that. They probably don't fit in with the homogeneous, sterile, Tilke bore-fests that modern F1 is all about though, of course.

It would be an improvement over several tracks on the current F1 calendar.

The only bike events now are World Superbikes and the AMA series, the rest is 4 wheeled racing. As for F1, the track record is currently held by Marc Gene in a Ferrari.
It’s a freakin awesome track, the problem is, it’s in a country park, so no upgrades can be made to the track or the facilities.

Here ya go

With the track only being a few miles from my house (and one of my buddies here being the communications director for SCRAMP, who run the track) ive stood on the corkscrew many times. It’s up there with Eau Rougue as the best corner in the world. It’s one hell of a drop and completely blind going in. Now that my conversion from 4 wheels to 2 is complete, I intend to take my bike round there some point so I’ll be able to let you know just how brown pant inducing the corner is LOL.

Was lucky enough to see Eau Rouge in the flesh a few years ago when we went to the GP (the year Rosberg whacked Hamilton on purpose). Would love to see the corkscrew in person, I remember a top gear episode where Clarkson took a Honda NSX round there.

Sebastian Loeb's onboard footage from his Pikes Peak record lap is probably my favorite onboard video out there, absolutely crazy

The corkscrew is one of the best corners in the world, but because of the trees, also one of the worst spectator corners. You also have to climb a mountain to bloody get there!!!!!

Do not see many of these around, I asked the owner if he would sell it and he is thinking about it.
